Body Mechanics designed the Membership Policies to ensure a safer and more enjoyable environment in which to exercise. We feature some of the most advanced exercise equipment and superior facilities in the area. To help ensure your safe use and enjoyment of our facilities, we have established the following rules and regulations. So, please be thoughtful and observe the Policies and Rules that you, and all members, have agreed to follow. Please note, Body Mechanics may, in its sole discretion, modify, amend or add to the Policies and Rules without notice at any time. Polices and Rules may also be orally communicated to you or contained on signs posted in the club. Please review and familiarize yourself with them.
Members and guests must check-in at the front desk upon entering the club. Members must show their membership cards to the receptionist and may be required to leave their membership cards at the front desk and/or insert their cards into the card reader. Members may not loan their membership cards to anyone. We may require members and guests to show additional photo identification prior to admittance to the club. Members must be in good standing (that is, paid to date) to use the club. A fee may be charged to replace lost or stolen membership cards.
USE OF FACILITIES AND EXERCISE EQUIPMENT
Availability of Facilities:
Body Mechanics’ facilities or services, including but not limited to, classes and equipment, may have limited hours, be discontinued altogether at anytime, or be offered on a “first come first serve” basis. Body Mechanics reserves the right to charge a separate participation or reservation fee for any or all of these facilities or services.
Members must use the equipment only in the manner intended by the manufacturer and authorized by the club. Please follow all instructions and posed signs carefully. We reserve the right to limit your use of any equipment or facilities to ensure the equitable use of the equipment and facilities by all members and guests. No member should monopolize the equipment or weights. If there is a conflict over use, let Body Mechanics’ management resolve it. As a courtesy, please replace the weights on the rack after you use them and wipe off any benches after your use.
If you believe any piece of equipment is malfunctioning, please notify club management immediately. Members and guests may not bring in their own equipment. DO NOT USE the equipment if you are taking any medication that causes drowsiness or have any medical condition which makes such use inappropriate.
Aerobics, Spin, Zumba® and other classes are available. Class size, schedules, sign-up procedures and fees vary from class to class.

GENERAL POLICIES FOR MINORS
Minors Under 12:
May not use Body Mechanics’ facilities at any time and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times when in the facilities. If your minor child does not behave, Body Mechanics may ask you to make other arrangements. Body Mechanics does not permit children over six years old of the opposite sex in the locker rooms.
Minors 12 – 17:
Minors over the age of 12 may use Body Mechanics’ facilities without being accompanied by a parent or guardian if the minor is a member and their parent or guardian signed the parental waiver and membership agreement. Body Mechanics reserves the right, in its discretion, to require that a parent or guardian accompany a minor.
Kids Only Play Room:
Length of stay is limited to two hours. Parents or guardians must remain in the fitness center at all times and children will be released only to the parent or guardian who accompanied the child. We may deny a child’s admittance due to a child’s illness, misbehavior or any other reason that we believe is appropriate.
Body Mechanics provides lockers for daily use for members to use while working out in the gym. We recommend that members and guests do not bring valuables into the club and that each member purchases a combination lock or padlock to secure their locker while using the club facilities. Body Mechanics is not responsible for any lost or stolen articles or damage to your property so, do not leave your valuables unprotected. Pursuant to your membership contract, you have waived any right to sue the club for lost or stolen articles. Due to the limited number of lockers available, we cannot allow locks to be left on overnight.
DRESS / TOWEL POLICY
Body Mechanics requires you to wear appropriate clothing and footwear while in its facilities. We reserve the right to deny use of the club to any person whose attire we do not consider to be appropriate in connection with the public image of our club and our rules and regulations. No profane language or slogans on any attire in the club is permitted.
Here are general guidelines: gym shorts, T-shirts, jogging, aerobic and sweat outfits are all right for exercising or aerobics, but street clothes/shoes and jeans are not. Athletic shoes are required in exercise areas, no street or black-soled shoes permitted. Members may be required to use personal towels to wipe equipment upholstery clean after use as a courtesy to other members. If you wish to carry beverages with you during your workout, you must use a covered plastic container.
Members and guests are subject to the control and guidance of the Body Mechanics’ staff and must follow their instructions while in the club. Body Mechanics does not permit and will not tolerate any inappropriate conduct. Such conduct includes, without limitation, using loud, abusive, offensive, insulting, demeaning language, profanity, lewd conduct or any conduct that harasses or is bothersome to members, guests or employees. Members and guests agree to conduct themselves in a quiet and well-mannered fashion and not cause any disturbances or interfere with the safe use or enjoyment of the club by other members and guests.
PROHIBITED ITEMS AND ACTIVITIES
No member may train another member for compensation. If Body Mechanics determines that such training is occurring, the trainer and/or trainee may lose their membership.
Body Mechanics reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to limit or restrict the use of outside equipment in the club.
No Alcohol, Drugs, or Smoking:
Body Mechanics cannot let you engage in any activity while under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol. We do not permit smoking, alcohol, or illegal drugs, including steroids, in our facility.
No Photographic or Video Equipment:
No photography, videotaping, filming or audio recording in Body Mechanics’ facilities without prior written permission of the management.
No weapons of any kind are permitted in 24 Hour facilities.
Body Mechanics encourages you to bring friends, relatives and business associates for a guest visit for the purpose of introducing them as potential members. Subject to the club manager’s approval, make an appointment for your guest’s visit and tour. A guest must check in at the front desk, and be at least 18 years of age. Guests must comply with the rules and regulations of the club. We reserve the right to charge guest fees for out of town guests and for other guests we may admit who are not interested in signing up with Body Mechanics. Body Mechanics may restrict the number of guests and times you may bring guests. We reserve the right to discontinue guest privileges, in whole or in part, for the general benefit of the club.
VIOLATION OF POLICIES OR RULES
If any member or guest violates any of the Policies or Rules, Body Mechanics will ask that person to stop or leave. A member’s violation of any of the Policies or Rules may also cause Body Mechanics to terminate that person’s membership.
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY POLICY STATEMENT
Body Mechanics enrolls and maintains memberships without regard to race, religious creed, color, national origin, ancestry, physical disability, mental disability, medical condition, marital status, sex, sexual orientation or age. All members shall have full and equal access to the facility. All members with disabilities shall be entitled to reasonable accommodations for their physical and mental impairments.
Body Mechanics will cancel your membership at any time as long as you provide your 30 day notice, cancellation request in a mailed, certified letter prior to the next monthly payment. If your mailed, certified letter is received after the monthly dues are issued, the cancellation will go into effect the following month.
PERSONAL INFORMATION AND PRIVACY
You should consult with your physician before using our services and facilities. You agree that if you engage in any physical exercise, class or activity, or use any club equipment or facility on the premises, you do so at your own risk. You understand and acknowledge that we have no expertise in diagnosing, examining or treating any medical condition. You agree that you are voluntarily participating in activities and use of the facilities and premises (including the parking lot) and assume all risk of injury, illness, damage or loss to you or your property that might result, including, without limitation, any loss or theft of any personal property. You agree you will not use the facilities with any medical condition, including open cuts, abrasions, sores, infections, maladies or inability to maintain personal hygiene, if such a condition poses a direct threat to the health or safety of yourself and others. It is your responsibility to consult with your physician to determine if any of these medical conditions exists and, if so, whether such condition poses a direct threat to the health or safety of yourself or others. Body Mechanics reserves the right, however, to make the final determination in this regard.
ADDITIONAL RULES AND REGULATIONS
Body Mechanics reserves the right to amend or alter these rules and regulations at any time. All amendments to these rules and regulations are effective immediately. In accordance with your membership, we may revoke or suspend your membership if you fail to follow the rules and regulations.
