Body Mechanics & Silver&Fit® Support Their Senior Members
The Silver&Fit® Exercise & Healthy Aging Program is designed specifically for Medicare beneficiaries. Body Mechanics serves the seniors in their community by supporting the Silver&Fit® fitness program. Program provides services to Medicare beneficiaries and group retirees who want to improve their health and quality of life by exercising more with our programs. We offer a range of strength, balance, and mobility exercises guided by certified exercise specialists working hand-in-hand with personal physicians and senior centers and communities.
Body Mechanics is an active participate in the Silver&Fit® Fitness Program. Silver&Fit® is a fitness program designed specifically to help seniors achieve better health through regular exercises and health education. Silver&Fit® provides eligible members with low-cost or no-cost fitness memberships and senior-oriented group exercise classes, through arrangements with certain health plans. Silver&Fit® is a product of Healthyroads, Inc., and American Specialty Health Networks, Inc.
Silver&Fit® benefits include:
- Access to conditioning classes, exercise equipment and other available amenities
- Customized senior fitness classes designed exclusively for older adults and taught by trained, certified instructors who want to improve their strength, flexibility, balance and endurance
- A specially trained advisor at the fitness center to introduce you to Silver&Fit® and help you get started
Silver&Fit® Active Aging Workout Programs
Choose from a variety of workout programs to improve strength, coordination, or cardio
- Zumba® Gold Endosed by Silver&Fit®
Targets the older adult. It takes the Zumba formula and modifies the moves and is done at a much lower intensity. It’s just as much fun just not as fast! Zumba Gold utilizes the same great Latin styles of music and dance that are used in basic program.
- TaijiFit® Gold Endosed by Silver&Fit®
A mind/body “exercise” that combines the best of traditional Taiji (Tai Chi) with modern Western fitness. It combines the best elements of fitness, meditation and the ancient martial arts. Class members follow the instructor using a method known as “Qi Cueing” – designed to bring your muscular, cardiovascular and nervous systems into perfect synergy (along with your mind and spirit).
- Muscular Strength & Range of Movement Class
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance. A chair is used for seated and/or standing support.
- Cardio Circuit Class
Crank up the cardio! Combine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance. Body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing, and a ball for wrists, hands and fingers is alternated with non-impact aerobic choreography.
- Senior Yoga Class
Yoga will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.
